About Me.

Jana is an accomplished biokineticist with extensive experience treating athletes across a wide range of sports, with a particular focus on dancers and pre- and postnatal rehabilitation.

Drawing on 12 years of classical ballet training and a Master’s degree in Sport Science with dance-focused research, she brings a unique depth of movement knowledge to injury prevention, recovery, and performance conditioning.

Her background in diverse sports, combined with her expertise in clinical treatment, Pilates and sports massage therapy, enables her to design holistic, personalised programmes for clients at every level—from elite athletes to those simply seeking to move and feel better.

Passionate about empowering individuals, Jana works both in person and virtually with clients worldwide, helping them restore strength, mobility, and confidence while encouraging them to take an active role in their recovery and fitness journey.

Education

Jana holds a Bachelor's degree in Sport Science (2012) and an Honours degree in Biokinetics (2013) from Stellenbosch University. After several years of professional practice, she returned to academia to complete her Master’s degree in Sport Science (2020), further deepening her clinical and research expertise. Her career has taken her across the globe—working abroad, touring with professional ballet dancers, treating elite athletes across multiple sporting codes, and lecturing at the University of Cape Town. Jana has also presented her research and delivered seminars at both national and international forums, reflecting her commitment to advancing the field of biokinetics through evidence-based practice and knowledge sharing.

Physical therapy session

Biokinetics

Predominantly an exercise-based therapy that also includes scientific education. You will learn how to  move more efficiently, changing bad movement habits and creating symmetry in your body. During the initial consultation a full assessment will be done to tailor your programme to you.

Leg Massage Therapy

Sports massage

A deep tissue massage is perfect to treat a build-up of tight muscles from sport or lifestyle. Keeping your muscles supple with even tone and good blood supply improves their function and speed up recovery.

Dancer assessment

With her personal background in dance and extensive professional experience working with dancers, Jana has a deep understanding of the dance world. She knows what to assess, what is required of a dancer, and how to guide them safely back on stage.

Reformer Workout

Pilates reformer

Reformer Pilates offers a dynamic, full-body workout using a specialised spring-resistance apparatus to build strength, improve flexibility, and enhance core stability. Jana give classes and individual sessions at a studio in Paarl.

Private and duo sessions are available. Under Jana’s expert guidance, sessions are tailored to each individual’s needs—whether for rehabilitation, injury prevention, or athletic performance—ensuring safe, effective, and results-driven movement training.
